I love cooking and baking, ask anyone who knows me, im always at it, when i have time. There's not usually a shortage of fresh bread, cakes, cookies and homemade dinners at my house, so when
I was asked to review a new cookbook coming out called For Those About To Cook Pure Metal by Bruce Moore, i jumped at the chance.
Given my love of metal music, baking and reading, all i needed to make the perfect evening was a pot of tea, and for a couple of hours i poured over the book, read it from cover to cover. Found some good bands i knew about and some i had never heard of and as a consequence have some new music to investigate.
The book has information on the bands, with quotes and pictures, so it makes for an interesting read, the recipes have a wide range of easiness, with some being really simple and others being fiddly, i was pleased there was a wide range of tastes catered for including raw, vegan and vegetarian recipes. there's also a wide range of meals and drinks, although some of the ingredients may be a bit hard to get hold of, like moose, and reindeer but the majority of them use everyday easy to get items.
As we are a half vegetarian family i will be substituting a lot of the meats for vegetarian equivelant such as Quorn mince, chicken pieces, meatballs, steak strips etc unless its not practical.
This blog will be for testing these recipes, but from time to time i will also add some family favourites.
The first thing i baked was a cookie recipe, so that will be my first review. Enjoy.
